Based in Brisbane, Australia, AM2 Pty Ltd was established in 2003. We specialize in cost-effective and flexible customized software, database systems, web-based applications and e-commerce solutions. We also offer copywriting and documentation services.
Our proven track of experience in software development is the key to AM2’s success. We have experience in finance, accounting, retail, telecoms and small business needs.

Our business only succeeds when your business is successful. Most of our custom is repeat business and we are extremely proud of this. Off-the-shelf software and hardware is easy to obtain. Directors: Peter Smidt (MBA, BSc Computer Science) & Sally Smidt (BSc Computer Science)
Developing computer software commercially since 1986, Peter set up AM2 Pty Ltd to use his expertise supporting small to medium sized businesses. Working on large scale IT projects for international companies, Peter gained experience in the following industries:-
- Investment Management (Shell UK)
- Accounting (NCR, NZ)
- Retail / Point of Sale (Fujitsu/ICL Retail Systems, UK, Europe & Australia)
- Mobile Telecommunication systems (Cellnet, UK – www.o2.com)
Sally Smidt – Business Analysis & Documentation
Sally is a computer analyst and has worked in the computer industry since 1989. She assists Peter with system testing, bug-fixing, preparing technical documentation and what’s she definitely good at – customer support.
Our Background
- We both have Computer Science degress. Peter also has a postgraduate business degree gained from the University of Queensland.
- We both have over 20 years experience in the local and overseas IT industry.
- We have worked together on major IT projects since 1991 and complement each other’s skills.
- We pride ourselves in customer service. If we can help your business succeed, we are happy.
Financial Accounting
- Peter developed a chartered accounting system from scratch in 1988 for accountants Sellar & Sellar, NZ.
- Peter produces consolidated monthly reports for a small multi-national company. (ie: P&L, BS and cashflow projection).
- For the past two years, Peter has been Treasurer for the Parents & Citizens Committee at his sons’ school.
Finance
- Peter has worked on Fund Management Systems in London, UK.
- Peter has also completed post graduate university papers related to Finance and Investment Management (University of Queensland).
People
- Most people find us easy to get along with and we pride ourselves on our customer service.
- We both have experience working with large teams of different people.
